Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
Consumer health data is information that identifies your physical or mental health, or could be used to learn about it. In FutureSelf, that includes pain notes, workouts, meals, and what you write about how you feel. This policy, from Future Self LLC (“FutureSelf,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), lists the health data we collect, why, who receives it, and how to use your rights. Washington and Nevada require a policy like this one. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else.
1. What we collect, and why
We collect health data only to run the features you use. It starts on your iPhone. Each item below says what it is for and when it leaves your device.
- Active check-ins, pain and injury marks, and readiness. The pain, soreness, and readiness you report, and the body areas you mark. They shape your training plan and each session. They go to xAI, our AI provider, when you use a Coach feature in Active.
- Workouts and training history. Your sessions, sets, and records, including workouts imported from Apple Health. They track your plan and progress. They go to xAI when you use a Coach feature in Active, and to Apple Health if you allow it.
- Food diary. The meals you log, describe, photograph, or search for, with their nutrition numbers. They give you daily totals and meal ideas. The words, photo, or search you submit go to xAI when you ask FutureSelf to analyze a meal, look up a food, or suggest meals. Meal ideas and plans also carry your recent meal names, today's remaining calories and macros, and your goal, targets, and eating window. Meals go to Apple Health if you allow it.
- Allergens and body details. Your allergens, way of eating, weight, height, age, sex, and activity level. They tailor meal ideas to you and size meal plans. Allergens and your way of eating go to xAI with meal requests. Weight, height, age, sex, and activity level go only when you turn on “Use my body metrics” for a meal plan.
- Water, caffeine, alcohol, and supplements. What you log. It gives you daily totals and stays on your iPhone, except water, which goes to Apple Health if you allow it.
- Values from Apple Health. With your permission: workouts, activity, heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, body measurements, and food and water logged by other apps. Section 3 of our Privacy Policy lists every type. They reflect your training, recovery, and meals. Raw readings such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep are never included in AI requests. Workouts, meals, and a body weight imported from Apple Health can inform AI requests you make, the same way values you enter do.
- What you write in Self. Reflections and identity work can describe your health, feelings, or habits. They are for your own practice. They go to xAI when you use a Coach feature on them, and to our servers automatically while you're signed in with Apple.
- Body progress photos. They stay on your iPhone and leave only inside an archive you choose to export.
- Location. If you allow it, your iPhone uses location for outdoor workout routes and for reminders when you arrive at a gym you choose. Location is not sent to us, xAI, Supabase, or Sentry. Gym search and route suggestions send your area to Apple Maps.
2. Where it comes from
- You, when you log, check in, mark a body area, or write.
- Apple Health, only with your permission.
- Your iPhone, when you use its location, camera, or photos for a feature.
3. Who receives it
We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own use. Only these service providers receive it, on our instructions, to run features you use:
- xAI provides the AI model behind Coach, FutureSelf's AI guide. It writes Coach's replies, plans, and meal ideas from what each request carries, and looks up nutrition numbers. When Apple Intelligence is available, some requests, such as meal ideas, are handled on your iPhone first and go to xAI only if your iPhone can't complete them. xAI keeps each request and response for up to 30 days to check for abuse, then deletes them, and it does not train its models on them. Contact: xAI's privacy policy.
- Supabase runs our servers. It carries AI requests to xAI and stores your account and the backups you choose to make. Contact: privacy@supabase.com.
- Sentry receives crash and performance reports, which are set up to leave out your entries and what you write. When a request fails, a report can include the request's web address, which can include your account ID. Contact: compliance@sentry.io.
If you allow it, FutureSelf also saves workouts, meals, water, and weight to Apple Health on your iPhone, where that data stays under your control. FutureSelf does not write Active or Fuel records to iCloud. No third party collects health data about you across other apps or websites through FutureSelf, and FutureSelf has no advertising tools.
4. Your rights
Washington and Nevada law give their residents these rights over consumer health data. We honor them for everyone who uses FutureSelf, at no cost.
- See what we have. In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy & Data. “Export a full archive” gives you your records with a list of what the archive covers. Email us for anything it leaves out, or for the list of every service provider that received your health data, with a way to contact each one.
- Delete it. In Privacy & Data, “Delete a category” removes one kind of record from this iPhone. While you're signed in, “Delete all data” also deletes your copies on our servers and in your private iCloud backup, and “Delete account” does the same and removes your account. If you signed out of cloud, sign back in first so the app can reach your server copies, or email us. Copies at xAI expire within 30 days, and our database provider's backups expire within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent. Turn off Apple Health, or single Apple Health categories, in Privacy & Data, and revoke Health, Location, Camera, or Photos access in iOS Settings. To stop requests to xAI, stop using Coach features and stop asking FutureSelf to analyze a meal, look up a food, or suggest meals. Withdrawing consent does not delete what we already hold; the delete tools above do.
- Get an answer in time. We answer within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why within those 45 days and take up to 45 more.
- Appeal. If we turn down all or part of a request, reply to our answer, or email us with the subject “Health Data Appeal.” We decide within 45 days and explain our reasons in writing. If we deny your appeal, you can file a complaint with the Washington Attorney General or the Nevada Attorney General.
To make a request, email privacy@futureslf.com with the subject “Health Data Request.” We may ask for details tied to your account or device to confirm the request is yours. Every other privacy choice is in Section 10 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies to data we already hold, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it. The date at the top of this page changes with every revision.
